AN EVENING OF PIANO MUSIC, STORIES AND HOPE

Join the ACF DC for a special evening of piano music and personal stories with Austrian pianist and composer Jonathan Lucas Hauser.

Through his travels, including visits to Ukraine, Jonathan has met people whose lives have been deeply affected by war. Their stories and experiences inspire his music. His compositions combine modern piano music with romantic and dramatic sounds to share these personal stories through music.

His debut album, Piano of Peace, reflects his belief that music can bring people together, even when they come from different backgrounds or have different standpoints. During the evening, Jonathan will share the stories and experiences behind his music.

The concert will also feature photographs by Joel Carillet, including images from Leb Wohl, a video project created in collaboration with Jonathan in Ukraine.

This performance is part of Jonathan’s musical journey from Salzburg to Ukraine and the United States.

Doors open at 6:15 PM. The event starts at 7:00 PM.
Join us for a glass of wine after the concert.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jonathan Lucas Hauser is a pianist and composer from Salzburg, Austria, whose work brings together music, cultural diplomacy and peacebuilding. Raised in a family of musicians, he studied at the Technical University of Munich and went on to work in mechanical engineering. Over time, he became increasingly worried of his profession’s impact on global conflicts, prompting him to pursue music and public speaking as a way of communication.

Since then, he has travelled to countries affected by war, transfering his impressions and encounters into piano compositions. His debut album, Piano of Peace, was released in 2026. He collaborates with the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs as well as the Austrian Institute for Human Rights. Jonathan performs in concert halls, universities and diplomatic settings across Europe, the Ukraine and the United States.
