ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Irena Manolova and Tomasz Goliński formed Lucid Duo in 2011, and have established themselves as an internationally recognized marimba duo. They have performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, appearing at renowned concert halls and international festivals, including the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, National Concert Hall Taipei, Ginza Yamaha Hall Tokyo, and Festival Internacional de Marimbistas in Mexico.
As first-prize winners of the Universal Marimba Competition, held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium, the duo has gained international recognition for their virtuosity and innovative approach to the marimba. They further deepened their expertise by completing Europe’s first Marimba Master’s Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.
In 2016, Irena Manolova and Tomasz Goliński received the Start-Stipendium from the Federal Chancellery of Austria, enabling them to specialize with Japanese marimba legend Keiko Abe at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. They regularly perform, teach, and give lectures and moreover serve as jury members at international percussion competitions. Based in Vienna, they continue to expand the artistic possibilities of the marimba through performance, composition, and international collaboration.
