Experience two delightful music events with award-winning Austrian organist Stefan Donner.
Join the National City Christian Church on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 12:15 PM for the final free weekly Music at Midday concert of the spring season, welcoming Austrian organist Stefan Donner to perform music by some of Europe’s greatest composers.
In collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum Washington, the DC Chapter of the American Guild of Organists organizes a masterclass with Stefan Donner for organists at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 9:30 AM.
Stefan Donner earned degrees from the University of Music Vienna where he studied organ, piano, and conducting. He also received a Master’s degree in organ performance from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Additionally, Stefan Donner has participated in master classes and notably received a 2014-15 Fulbright Scholarship to study organ and harpsichord at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Stefan is the recipient of various awards, including the 2010 Franz Schmidt Organ Competition and has recorded several CDs (recently Bach’s Goldberg Variations on harpsichord). He maintains a busy globe-spanning concert schedule. In 2019, he debuted at Musikverein Vienna with Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony in cooperation with the RSO-Orchestra Vienna. Since 2025, Stefan Donner works as a piano instructor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Sonata in B-flat Major (Allegro con brio) – Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
Nutcracker Suite (Waltz of the Flowers) – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Fugue in B minor – Marcel Dupré

We look forward to an engaging and inspiring session. Coffee and bagels will be served at 9:30 AM and the class will run from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
