The ACF DC and the Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein proudly present TRIO LUMINA, three outstanding musicians from the prestigious Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.

The Academy of Music in Liechtenstein is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to nurturing young talent from around the world, providing them with exceptional opportunities to pursue musical excellence.

The trio is currently in Washington, DC at the invitation of the Ryuji Ueno Foundation, participating in the foundation’s Washington Semester Leadership Program. During their stay, the musicians will attend lectures and coaching sessions, and visit Shenandoah University, where they will engage and collaborate with other advanced music students.

Doors open at 6:15 PM. The event starts at 7:00 PM and is followed by a wine reception offered by the Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Yuna Dierstein (b. 2007, Germany) is a German cellist who began her studies at the age of four and is currently a pre-college student at the University of Music Freiburg. She has received important musical guidance through masterclasses with leading cellists and is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. A multiple first-prize winner at Jugend musiziert and other international competitions, she has also been awarded top prizes at the Musica Goritiensis Competition and the International Dotzauer Competition, where she received a special jury prize. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Baroque Ensemble and performs on a cello by Wolfgang Schnabl, kindly loaned by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.

Pilar Policano (b. 2007, Argentina) is a violinist studying with Boris Kuschnir at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. A top prizewinner at major international competitions—including the Grand Prix at the Yankelevitch International Violin Competition—she has performed as a soloist at leading venues such as KKL Lucerne and Teatro Colón, collaborating with prominetn orchestras across Europe and Latin America such as the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Tonkunstvereinigung, the Paraguay National Symphony Orchestra, and the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a regular participant at the Perlman Music Program, studying with Itzhak Perlman and Li Lin, and is a scholarship holder of the Music Academy in Liechtenstein.

Vivien Walser (b. 2004, Germany) is a pianist studying with Prof. Antti Siirala at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, where she has been part of the pre-college programme since 2020. She began piano at age five and showed early promise, joining the preparatory class of Prof. Massimiliano Mainolfi at ten. A multiple first-prize winner at international competitions and Jugend musiziert, she has received top awards at competitions in Italy, Spain, and beyond, as well as the Steinway Classical Promotion Prize in Munich. Vivien performs regularly at major venues and festivals, including the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, and is a scholarship holder of the Music Academy in Liechtenstein and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
