ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
In Plasticphonia – Plastic Trash Composed into Music / A Hymn Against Climate Change – Crystn Hunt Akron combines club culture with environmental awareness. Using field recordings captured from plastic waste washed up on beaches and riverbanks, she creates a unique sound composition that she performs live in concert. Through her audiovisual shows, the artist will create an exhilarating club atmosphere on both days of the Sound Scene Festival in DC, while also encouraging reflection on the wastefulness of our Western way of life.
