WAM! [Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart]

Back by popular demand, this successful collaboration between the In Series and The Washington Ballet Studio Company debuted in January at Atlas Performing Arts Theatre. DC Theatre Scene writes: "It’s an evening of over-the-top effervescence — as if a wild, warm wind has come to earth in the Atlas Theatre’s Lang auditorium ... The stage explodes with vitality."
Through riveting performances by a cast of eleven young international ballet stars and six In Series’ opera singers, WAM! travels through Mozart’s life and bears witness to the transcendent enchantment of his music, in a family friendly yet elegantly sophisticated creation. Journeying from childhood to adulthood; from Vienna to Paris and London; from innocence and humor to tragedy and romance, the evening includes important selections from the operas Bastien & Bastienne, Abduction from the Seraglio and The Marriage of Figaro. The WAM! musical journey also includes excerpts from Idomeneo, The Magic Flute, the beloved Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) and several piano music favorites. Maestro Rodríguez will conduct from the piano, and his cast includes sopranos Laura Lewis and Laura Wehrmeyer, mezzo Anamer Castrello, mezzo Grace Gori, tenor Peter Burroughs, baritone Bryan Jackson and bass Sean Pflueger.
