Monday November 23, 2009 Josef Haslinger presented translated sections of his book Phi Phi Island which tells a true story of Josef Haslinger and his family who stayed at Phi Phi Island when the tsunami of December 2004 hit Thailand.
After that he talked about Creative Writing in Europe with Dr. Jennifer Natalya Fink, an assistant professor of English at Georgetown University. Through the lecture lead Astrid Weigert, a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of German at the Georgetown University. The evening ended with a reception where the audience had the chance to ask numerous questions.
