| concert Willi Resetarits “Stubnblues“
The Austrian singer and comedian Willi Resetarits and his band present their new project “Stubnblues”, a Viennese form of rhythm and blues. It is an acoustic, snappy session including traditional musical instruments such as guitars, winds and accordion, but far away from being the typical Austrian “folk music”. Popular Viennese songs alternate with blues and soul and funky samba rhythms.
Furthermore, he is an engaged human rights activist, and has received several awards, including the 2003 Karl Renner Prize. Resetarits is also one of the founders and chairman of the Integration House in Vienna.
At the Austrian Embassy Willi Resetarits and his band will perform their third album, Stubnblues, which the group views as their most mature. This album represents the realization of their musical visions, particularly through the songs’ lyrics.
Wednesday March 24 | 07:30 pm | Embassy of Austria | 3524 International Court NW | Washington DC 20008 Admission free. RSVP required: 202-895-6776 or http://www.acfdc.org/events-registration This event was made possible through the contribution of the Alban Berg Foundation and Stieglbrauerei.
